Touring
The following is the itinerary for the September 30 through October 16, 2010 trip:
Arrival at the Cairo Airport. You will meet and be assisted by our tour representatives and then you will transfer to your hotel for the night.

We board a boat for a scenic trip down the Nile.
Sunday, October 3, 2010
We will spend a full day touring
Cairo and visiting the Egyptian Museum, drive to Giza to visit the Great
Pyramids and the Sphinx. We will enjoy Oriental cuisine for lunch at a selected
restaurant. After lunch we will visit the Citadel of Salah El Din, Mohamed Ali
Mosque, and the world famous winding bazaars of Khan El Khalili.

After checking out of our hotel we will
head to Nuweiba to take the ferryboat to Aqaba and then drive to Petra where we
will stay at the Hotel Taybat Zaman.

This morning we will explore Petra, the
newly voted, “Wonder of the World.” We will walk down the narrow canyon to the
breathtaking view of the Treasury, Petra’s most famous landmark. You will have
time to visit this fascinating city carved from the cliffs of the canyon and
experience some of the best ruins found anywhere in the world.

Drive to Allenby Bridge and cross the
border into Israel. Drive to Jericho where we will stay at the Hotel
Intercontinental.
Visit the Excavations of the oldest inhabited town, Elijah’s
Fountain and the Sycamore tree. Our afternoon will be free for relaxation and
swimming in the nice swimming pool at the hotel.

Drive to the caves of Qumran,
place where the famous Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Continue along the Dead Sea shore to Massada, the last
Jewish stronghold against the Romans. Climb to the fortress by cable car, for
exploration of this magnificent site. Drive to Jerusalem where we will stay at
the Hotel Olive Tree.

After breakfast, drive to the
Mount of Olives for a general panoramic view of the Holy City. Proceed to the
BYU Jerusalem Center for church service at 10:00. Lunch will be at a nearby
restaurant. Drive to Bethlehem, visit the Basilica of the Nativity with the Grotto
and the Manger. Proceed to the Shepherds' Field. We will have time for shopping and then drive back to
Jerusalem. On the way, stop at Ein Karem, the birthplace of John the Baptist
and visit the churches of the visitation and the Magnificat.

Drive to the Dung Gate for a walking
tour in the old walled city of Jerusalem. Visit the Western Wailing Wall and
view the Mosques of Al Aksa and the Dome of the Rock. Stop at the nearby
St. Anne's Crusader Church with the Pool of Bethesda. Continue
walking from Lithostrotos (the Pavement) and Flagellation following the Stations
of the Cross along the Via Dolorosa to the Basilica of the Resurrection (or the
Holy Sepulcher). Visit Golgotha, Calvary, and the Holy
Sepulcher. Rest of the day free.

Drive to Mount Zion to see the room of
the Last Supper, the Upper Room as well as King David’s Tomb. Then to the House
of Caiaphas, where the church of St. Peter in Gallicantu (Cock Crow). Lunch
will be at unique restaurant in the Old City. In the afternoon we will visit
the Garden Tomb.

Departure through the Jordan Valley to
Beth Shan. Visit this magnificent city of the Decapolis with its beautiful
excavations. Lunch will be served at a pleasant restaurant in the area. We will stay at the Hotel Galei
Kinnereth in Tiberius. The BIG Concert is this evening!
Wednesday, October 13, 2010
Start the day with a boat ride across
the Sea of Galilee. By bus, visit biblical sites around Lake Kinnereth, Capernaum
the House of St. Peter, Tabgha commemorating the Multiplication of the Loaves
and Fish, and the Primacy Chapel, the Mount of Beatitudes, the location of the
Sermon on the Mount. Return to hotel and have the rest of the day free.

After a healthy breakfast at the
hotel, we will drive to the sources of the Jordan. Visit Caesarea Philippi
(Banias), Dan, and return via the Golan Heights. Stop at the traditional
Baptismal Site. Rest of the day free.
Friday, October 15, 2010
After breakfast, we will leave Tiberius
to see Cana of Galilee, the place of The Wedding where Jesus performed His
First Miracle, the Conversion of Water to Wine. Continue to Nazareth, the
little town that recalls the hidden years in the life of Jesus Christ and His
Childhood. Visit the Basilica of the Annunciation. Drive to Caesarea where we
will see an ancient Roman theatre and study the Biblical events that happened
here. Drive to Tel Aviv where we will stay at the Hotel Renaissance.
